The competition started with 10 teams from across the Partnership who played in 2 leagues, followed by semi- finals and a final. Meadowdale beat Horton Grange Primary in a tense final with the players from the other 8 teams spectating. Also watching were Nicole Dixon, Jamaican international and Team Northumbria player (pictured above with the winning team); Josie Pointon, Team Northumbria Community Sport Services and Vicky Atkinson, Northumberland netball development officer.
The players were fortunate enough to be able to do a question and answer session with Nicole, who described to them what it is like to be a professional netball player who also represents their country. Nicole also met the umpires who had officiated at the competition who were from Blyth Academy and Bedlington High School. Well done to the officials and all players from: Malvins Close; Stead Lane; St.Bedes; Newsham; Croftway; New Delaval; Morpeth Road and Station Primaries.
